Getting Started
How can therapy be helpful for me?
Therapy provides a safe, compassionate space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It can help you heal from past traumas, break free from tiring patterns like people-pleasing, strengthen self-esteem, and build healthier relationships. Whether you're seeking relief from distressing symptoms, navigating life transitions, or simply striving for personal growth, therapy can empower you to create meaningful change and improve your overall well-being.
What can I expect during the first session?
During our first session, we'll discuss your goals, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. It’s also a time for you to ask any questions and together we can decide if we’re a good fit.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation using the link on my website, or by calling, texting, or emailing me directly.
Services & Sessions
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, I offer virtual therapy to anyone residing within Texas through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
Do you offer early morning or evening appointments?
Yes, although these spots do fill up quickly. Reach out so we can discuss availability!
Where are in-person sessions held?
I offer in-person sessions at Findlay Therapy Services in Prosper, TX and Frisco, TX.
What issues do you specialize in treating?
I work with teens and adults navigating trauma recovery, attachment wounds, people-pleasing, low self-esteem, and recovering from abuse.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
I combine cognitive strategies, somatic techniques, mindfulness, person-centered, and humanistic approaches, and sometimes include DBT skills. Additionally, I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based treatment proven effective in treating PTSD. My goal is to provide a therapeutic intervention that best fits you and your goals.
Privacy & Policies
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, your privacy is a priority. Everything you share in therapy is confidential, except in situations where safety concerns or legal obligations apply.
I am currently under supervision as I work to obtain independent licensure. This means I regularly meet with my supervisor, Stephanie Degrate, LCSW-S, to consult on cases. She is bound by the same limits of confidentiality that I am.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
I ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.
Additional Information
What age groups do you work with?
I work with individuals ages 13 and up.
How long does therapy last?
Each person’s journey is unique, but we’ll regularly assess progress to make sure we’re meeting your needs.
Can I contact you between sessions?
You can reach me via email, call, or text for scheduling purposes, but therapeutic conversations are reserved for sessions. I am not always available and ask that you call 911 or go to your closest emergency room in the event of an emergency.
